InsideNGO 2017 Annual Conference: Framing the Future of NGO Excellence

Fr02.10 - From Accidents to Pandemics: Critical Incident Preparation & Prevention

Jul 21, 2017 9:50am ‐ Jul 21, 2017 11:05am

This session looks at two different risks that impact the health and well-being of INGO staff: motor accidents and disease outbreaks such as Ebola and Zika. A panel of experts will walk you through case scenarios to help determine how prepared you and your staff are to respond to such incidents. Learn what's necessary for pandemic and infectious disease planning, including practices for monitoring and mitigating risk, the role and limits of insurance, and the use of technology. Then, consider the case of an actual vehicle accident to understand the correct reporting procedures, how to manage medical evacuations, and the complexities of local and international insurance.

  • Myles Druckman, MD, Senior Vice President and Regional Medical Director, International SOS
  • Joe Gleason, Director, Risk Management, AHT Insurance
  • Dave Richter, President, Richter International Consulting LLC
